I was reading your intro page with growing interest, until I encountered your remark "and theyre better than ever (Reagan's gone, for one thing)." I won't bother to cite the reasons why I think he was a great president. It's like James Dean: if you understand Reagan's greatness, no explanation is required, and if you don't understand it, no explanation will suffice.
The reason I'm writing is not to argue politics, but to express my frustration with your deprecating reference to Reagan. To whit:
1. It is arrogant and intellectually irresponsible to state an opinion as a fact, especially when the matter (like this one) is one of significance and is subjective.
2. The man is terminally ill and in no position to defend himself. Why don't you direct your barbs at someone who can talk back to you, as I am doing?
I hope to see "Tales of the Gold Monkey" in syndication--good luck in that effort...
