Actually, Don Bellisario originally named the show 'Tales of the Brass Monkey' but the liqueur company that uses the name 'Brass Monkey' would not release the rights to its use. Too bad. I always thought that was a better name.
As far as making disparaging remarks about dogs [Jack in particular] is concerned... I cannot bring myself, without conscience, to denigrate the beast. His character had more brains than mine did. Probably made more money too!
