I always pictured that perhaps Jake met Corky at a bar when he (Corky) was drunk and getting himself into trouble with some rough characters. Jake, the good guy that he is, sees this happening and helps Corky. Corky is indebted to his new friend, and when he learns that Jake is in need of a mechanic he suggests himself for the job. Why Guatemala? Oh, there has to be some crazy reason why they're there. Maybe Corky doesn't *know* why he's there (he forgot?). And Jake could be there because he flew somebody there for big bucks. And he brought his mechanic with him, but his passengers, who turned out to be drug lords, killed the mechanic and... oh, wait. Sorry, don't get me started. I'm so much more in the mood to write TV shows than work right now Can't wait to see the story! Kathy
