Great minds think alike. I was thinking about doing a story along the same lines. Maybe now that we've gotten TOTGM back on cable TV, it's time for the reunion movie. I'm thinking CBS Wednesday Night Movie early in the 2001-02 season.

I was planning on setting it around Honolulu 1957 (After all, this would air 19 years after the series debuted). Jake and Sarah were married and had a 16-year-old son, Mike. Corky was sober, though still absent-minded, and married to a Hawaiian girl. They had an 8 year old daughter. (I hadn't come up with their names yet.) The story would begin with Louie's death (This would explain Roddy's absence, since no one else can play the part, not even Ron Moody!), probably under mysterious circumstances. He bequeaths the Monkey statue (a.k.a. Bellisario's coat hanger) to Jake and Sarah. Then mysterious and threatening occurrences happen. Could it be the Curse of the Gold Monkey, or someone from Jake and Sarah's past exacting revenge? (Hint: I'd have to include as many of the original cast as possible.)

I haven't fleshed the story out yet. So, Kathy, what's your "Return of the Gold Monkey" story about?
