Somebody wrecked the Goose and left it. Jake and Corky found it, put it back together, and flew it away. It's all in the 'bible' of Tales of the Gold Monkey.

Somewhat similar to "The Grey Ghost" in Adventure! Digest #3, where Buzz Cochran & Archie Purcell find a Consolidated PBY that the Royal Netherlands Navy has crashed and left in the Solomon Islands. By British rules of salvage at the time, anyone happening by after one year can have the wreckage. Archie being an ace mechanic and a mechanical instructor for Consolidated Vultee and Grumman (at different times, of course) he is able to get the thing back in the air. The rest is history.
