Ok, I admit it, I'm brain dead when it comes to WWII fighter planes and pilots. For my piece of mind--

What does a wingman do? (And please don't say "He flies in the air like this..." or "about 300 mph...) LOL.

I'm trying my hand at another another TotGM story. Sooo--when we're talking "wingman," are we talking about a lead plane followed by a small squadron of planes (one of which is the "wingman's" plane), or is it more like everyone's in one plane, and the wingman's kinda like a gunnery dude on a chopper?

Just paint me clueless...I'm sure once I get the answer, I'll have more questions for ya...
