At isolated local, adventurers and adventuresses, a bygone historical period. It uses itself as a crossroads for all manner of historical and scientific plot vehicles.

On the other hand,

-it has that Hercules-Xena cinemagraphic style and far more special effects.

-it does not have dogs and sidekicks a la '30's serials, it has dinosaurs and ladies in skin aerobics outfits swinging from vines a la '30's serials.

Not bad. Not half bad.
