My grandfather flew in a Catalina -- which I don't think our Grumman Goose is -- but it's a similar thing... They island-hopped from Brisbane to San Diego -- but I'm not entirely sure what they did. But books on Catalinas would be another source for you to check out, surely.
Oh and Robin -- I've another fanfic story percolating :):):) It's gonna be *illustrated* :)
