Session Start: Tue Jan 07 22:30:12 1997 *** Now talking in #TOTGM I be here! Hi! The macaroni was nummy. *** BabyRain sets mode: +o GMonkey Was it? Thanks. I had chips. No problem. Nice healthy dinner. Oh yeah. One of these days we'll actually buy groceries.:) That does help. :) A little, yeah. :) Should we have a topic for tonight? Well, I emailed just about everyone I could think of, asking them to come tonight. Bill says he should be here for the first hour. anyway You're so sweet. A topic? Nah, we just won't sing. :) But LaLa won't be here, so we could sing. :) I don't want to sing. If it scared off LaLa, how will these other people handle it? :) But I'm Monkey Woman!!! I have a beautiful voice! :) You do indeed. I recognized that the moment I heard you sing my national anthem. :) What can I say. It's a gift. :) Use it only for good. :) Don't I always? Do we have the fifth here in Canada? :) The fifth what? Amendment. :) Sorry, US only. Why? Do you plan to incriminate yourself? Nah. :) So, of all the episodes you have so far, which one is your favorite? Jasper seem scared to death of me. Do you think it's because he's so little? The pilot. Definitely the pilot. No, it's probably because your so big. :) Why the pilot? Without his tail, he's about the length of my pinky. Poor itty bitty Jasper. Why the pilot? Well, aside from Mr. Moody, I think everyone gave their best performances and that helped to establish the audience identification for the rest of the series. And of course, Jake took his shirt off. :) I think Caitlin's performance is wonderful. Oh, did he? I never noticed. (snort) You always wanted to be Sarah, didn't you? I did. I really did. You not noticed the Furry Chest?! NEVAH!! :) If he wasn't trying to encourage Bobbie, why did he get half-naked in front of her? For our benefit. :) (Why aren't we saving this stuff for when the others get here?) I like the furry chest. :) They can always read the log. Or don't you want this pre-game stuff posted? Oh, I don't care if you post it. No big deal. :) Besides we can continue talking about the FC when Leanne gets here. True, although Bill might not appreciate it. :) Hey, then again... ;) You behave. :) NEVAH!!! :) One episode I can't wait to see is "Trunk from the Past". It started a lifelong interest in egyptology for me. The copy I got from Lesley is has a few gaps. :( That's okay. I can wait. :) Are you sure you don't want the pseudo-movie instead? :) POSITIVE. Wait for what? I may never get a better copy. :( I'm sure something will turn up. :) It's almost finished copying. Then I'm going to make another tape. It never stops. So you really are cursing at the gold monkey. :) Would I do such a thing? :) But that is a stupid title, isn't it? Dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Okay, I think I've come up with a topic. Which is? "What was your least favorite episode?" No fair. I can't remember most of them. But does this curse thing count? No, you can't count the pseudo-movie. Which of the episodes that you have do you like the least? I can't remember the name of it. Describe it. Petit Bijou Cooked Goose. Right. * GMonkey knows all things Monkey * BabyRain thinks GMonkey knows all things -- period But you did like the hot tub scene, right? I like goosebumps. :) Which is your least favourite? Sultan of Swat. The one where Jake's boyhood hero is framed for murder. I don't remember that one, but from reading about it, I don't think I liked it either. The script was pretty good. I wonder why Caitlin had to be written out? ? Read the original script. Sarah's in that. But she doesn't appear at all in the episode. They wrote her out. Unfortunately, Sarah plays a key role in the original script so when they wrote her out, the script doesn't make much sense. Hmmm. Maybe she had to have her appendix out. Well, if she ever comes back we'll ask her. Okay. Here comes Leanne *** Volterra (~danswler@sdts3-51.znet.com) has joined #totgm lemme try that again. Hi! Howdy! Hi! *** GMonkey sets mode: +o Volterra *** BabyRain sets mode: +o Volterra Beat ya! I keep getting on the wrong server initially :) wow, double-opped. How are you guys? You lucky thing you? :) Great! How are you? I'm okay. How's it going with you? * Volterra is great! Now, why is that? I watched the pilot again this morning :) We were just discuss the pilot. What do you think of SC's furry chest? :) adore it :) Gimme BR thinks it should be capitalized, Furry Chest. :) But he sure was skinny in those early episodes. heh heh As in the Furry Chest. (snort) you think? You could see his ribs. BR didn't like the ribs. :) I wanted to see his Furry Chest, so I could deal with the ribs. I didn't notice any ribs ... I'd just forgotten, and the reaction on the phone last night was shick. :) It's not as noticable in the pilot. But in Shanghaied, watch out! btw, BR, glad to see you've written another instalment at last!!!! oh ... I think Volterra's lagging a wee bit. but I'm on the same server ... Or maybe you're just slow. :) It was kind of a blah installment, but I don't know how to play poker. :) :P~ Now, be nice, Monkey Woman. :) NEVAH!!! :) BR: that was the research you had to do? hey L&C played strip poker on Sunday night :) Yup, that was it. C? L? Okay, Volterra, here's a tough question. Lois & Clark Who's chest do you prefer, SC's or DC's? hmmm .... SC's ... I prefer fur I know, tough choice, huh? Dc's is nicely defined though I think we have to get all this chest hair silliness out of our system before Bill arrives. heh heh. Say anyone heard from Jeff? Nope. :( I email;ed Jeff but no response yet. Hey, I wonder if Jeff has a furry chest. maybe he's off on holidays I can't believe I didn't know who L&C was, coming from Leanne. :) (smacking forehead) Could be. * Volterra grins I bet LaLa would know or at the very least be willing to find out. I don't think she knows any more than I do. About this, I mean. :) But LaLa knows almost as much as Monkey Woman. :) ::) I say as Official Corky Correspondent, it's her duty to find out. ;) is she coming tonight? LaLa that is Probably not. Flood. Nope. The sewer system in Ashland was knocked out by flooding. They had to close the school for a week because they have no water. :( is she ok? Has she been in touch? At least *she* has running water. Yes, she's fine, but going stir crazy. well that's good to hear *** Gargon (ghancock@inetix3.dnet.net) has joined #totgm Hi, Garry! *** GMonkey sets mode: +o Gargon Hi y'all Welcome to our first MonkeyChat for 1997! Finally got free of that tax class Glad I could make it.. Then you can stay longer than 10 minutes? what's happening? Yep Oh not much. Nice to see you, Garry. Okay, topic for the night... "What was your least favorite episode?" the ones I haven't seen yet? :) That topic is loaded... I know. :) see? Okay, of all the episodes you can remember, which one was your least favorite? Garry, would you like to be added to the list of tape recipients? They're not all great copies, but they sure bring back memories. The Egyptian one I can wait till you have the initial onslaught handled. The initial onslaught will never be handled. :) Heheheh. I agree with Volterra; that would be the one... I can add you to the list. I won't be able to start making copies for you for a few weeks. Okay, what did you dislike about the Egyptian episode. OK. Let me know when you need some capital to work with... :) * GMonkey knows it's called Trunk From the Past, but doesn't like to show off. It was just a little too farout... far out I'll let you know before I start making copies for you, Garry. cool Gm :P~ Far out? What's wrong, Volterra? I've made copies for you already. I'm :P~ing at you showing off :) Ah, okay. :) How do you mean, Garry? As if a one-eyed, multi-lingual terrier is normal. :) * Volterra dislikes the shlocky "horror" style acting of Caitlin. in TFTP I've forgotten the commands for this thing...time off does that to me... Well, as long as you don't think when you watch that episode, it's enjoyable. I don't think it's the Egyptian thing I mind so much, but the treatment of the subject. ping GMonkey How so? whoops ping yourself! :) better than PONG well ... they didn't make it "believable" enough... and do I have to mention the over-acting again? "Oh God! Oh my God! You...killed him!" :) not to mention the first time she sees the trunk ... Gotta love it though...campy... Well, my least favorite episode was "The Sultan of Swat" which, mercifully, nobody remembers. BabyRain, you still out there? inspired by the Dire Straits song, perhaps? ouch! Unfortunately, no. It was the episode where Jake's boyhood idol, a famous baseball player, is framed for murder. 8P I'm still here I bet Bill remembers the episode. oh yeah, I remember reading the synopsis of that one ... it's bad?PIty, Dan'd like a baseball episode Now, where is Billy Boy? Good question. The original script is pretty good, but for some reason they wrote Sarah out at the last minute. Makes no sense after that. She actually played a key role in the original story. maybe Caitlin got sick? Maybe. Too bad. I would have loved to see it as originally written. The NETS fast tonight... slowest time is 8 secs BR, do you want to share your least favorite episode with us? No. :) Has the dates, time, etc; been set for the Gathering of Monkiacs, as of yet? Oh, a wise guy, huh? :) Well, okay. Inquiring minds wanna know... Um, well, not exactly. I don't remember most of the episodes, but I didn't really like "Cooked Goose" in a lot of ways. No rush. I was just wondering... We'll work on it, Garry. What ways, BR? I liked the stuff to do with the main characters, but thought the others (The slimeball and his screeching wife) were uninteresting. But the episode had its moments. I didn't find it believable. *However*, I did find what was going on between Jake and Corky to be incredibly well-written and moving. Gotta bail in a little while...I'm doing this from my office and as busy as it is they may want to put me back to work...yuck! Okay, Garry, we understand. Yeah, the Jake-Corky stuff was great. And I liked the scene when Sarah tricks Corky into staying by announcing to everyone that she's pregnant with his baby. They really did make a great combonation... action-wise that is... I loved the stuff with the regulars, but yawned through the guests. That's the beauty of home video. You can just fast forward through the boring bits. amen I love remote controls too for changing channels when the boys come through and complain about watching "OLD" shows... argh! They're not "OLD". They're "CLASSIC". :) Exactly. hear hear! Try to give them a little culture and what do it get...grousing.. it= I Argh, kids today! :) My hands ain't with it tonight... I do have one who is a flying nut though...he and I are in Civil Air Patrol and the little twit has more flight time than his Dad (me) does... Of course, "twit" is a term of affection. :) ubetcah ubetcha hands of stone... whatevah :) better bail, ladies... have a good evening and wish me luck braving the dreaded Grocery Aisles... Not my favorite way to spend an evening... :) bye Garry! nice to meet you Lucky you, Garry. :) Toodles, Garry! nice to meet you too, Volterra. Bye! btw, anyone got a good way to cook chicken?? rather than just sticking them in the oven and hoping for the best. Whole or parts? *** Gargon has quit IRC (Leaving) parts Believe it or not, I like to marinate/season chicken with salad dressing, preferably fat free ones. The vinegar gives it a great flavor. Doug just brought me FOOD! way to go, Doug :) Good Doug! It's chicken! :) Seasoned with vinegar? :) Nope. Grease. :) Oooo, the good kind. :) :) You gals talk. I'm going to watch and stuff my face. :) Otay. Hmmm...want more chicken tips, Leanne? hmm, well, I guess so ... we have any number of stir fry sauces that I could possibly adapt to it. You could do that, but it could get messy. Is it boneless chicken? other than that there's an unopened bottle of honey mustard dressing no it has bones Well, you could lightly season the chicken and broil it and just before it's done add the honey mustard dressing to it. Kinda like barbeque sauce. *** BabyRain changes topic to "Cooking Tips from the Monkey Bar" * Volterra has never broiled chicken before .... Thank you, BR. Does your oven have a broiling option? ew, look at that grease on BR's keyboard! yeees Well, if you're worrie about broiling (it's healthier to broil, ya know), you could always bake it. nah, I can always go look it up. Just be careful you don't burn the chicken. so what do I season the chicken with? I won't. the oven guide has a time thingy in it. What kind of seasonings do you like? * Volterra shrugs. Am I being helpful :) Yes, loads, thanks. :) Hmmm...the trick to broiling is to not dry the chicken out. so I have to baste often? Avoid salt seasoning, because it'll dry it out. No, you don't baste. Broiling cooks the chicken quickly. Broiling is a lot like barbequing. oh, ok. Don't Aussies like to bbq? "Put another shrimp on the barbie." well, I'll figure something out ... yeah, but on a BBQ, not in an oven! Well, do you have a BBQ? one sticks the meat in a wine-based marinade for a day or two and then cook it. Kinda like carne asada. I guess I could do carne pollo! or is that pollo asada? Probably the latter, since carne pollo is beef poultry. :) :) Okay, so much for today's cooking lesson. :) thanks Pat! It's all part of the Monkey Woman duties. :) Tune in next week for "Carp with Koji" Yucky! I'll stick with the peanut butter sandwiches. :) hehheh :) So have you finished your greasy chicken, BR? Still working on it There were fries, too Oooo, Doug went all out, didn't he? Question Ask The guy who gets his head chopped off in the pilot ... Was he the captain responsible for Willie being late, or merely an example? The captain. "He will never be late again." That's what I thought. Yeah, but that line could've gone either way * BabyRain is now eating coleslaw If you read the script, you'll notice that it's the captain. ok KFC Coleslaw?! * GMonkey wipes the drool from her chin * Volterra hasn't had KFC in *ages* * Volterra drools too ... No. Deluxe French Fries. :) We have KFC, though. I prefer their macaroni salad I don't know what KFC does to their coleslaw but it's delicious. BTW, BR, in the script, they have the translation of how Todo announces Willie to Princess Koji. "Honorable Princess...the German pig has arrived." :) *** BabyRain changes topic to "Talk the Monkey." They do? What is iit? :) * Volterra grins. I'll have to go read that script. Is it online? I've listened carefully, and I'm pretty sure that's what he really says. I'll have top check Yes, all the scripts are online. Go to the episode guide. * BabyRain is still certain the man's name was Dodo, and it's ll a cover-up. I didn't mean now! * Volterra isn't going anywhere It was just a little too quiet there for a moment. * BabyRain is too polite to type with her mouth full. Yeah, right. :) * BabyRain slaps GMonkey around a bit with a large trout * Volterra has just finished going through her comprehensive Warlow as Phantom file. Yes, I've been multi-tasking again. Them's fighting words! Come and get me, Monkey-Head! :) That's okay. I just won't come up to visit you with Monkey tapes. * BabyRain immediately bursts into tears Oh, now don't cry, BR. I'm sorry. * BabyRain begins ripping her hair out in anguish Just stop hitting me with the fish, okay? :) * BabyRain thinks the world is coming to an end But you asked for it. :) When you come up, we'll have Deluxe French Fries. Hey, me and the tapes can stay right here. :) Are you trying to bribe me with food? :) You don't want DFF? I didn't say that. :) * BabyRain is picturing all the Diet Pepsi in the fridge whem MonkeyWoman comes to visit. what *are* Deluxe French Fries? Leanne, you should come visit me, too. :) We'll all gather round the TV and watch Monkey episodes. I would love to -- when I get my permanent resident stamp in my passport ... otherwise you'd be stuck with me for a *long* time! Deluxe is a chain of local restaurants. Their logo is "Where the spud is king". Who can pass up a slogan like that. And we can go to the Reversing Falls! Where a river flows one direction part of the day, and then turns around and goes the other waay. Fickle, huh. Versatile. :) clever. justlike river salmon, eh? Okay, let's get back to MonkeyChatting. We have monkeys. :) Maybe we should go back to the Furry Chest now that it's ladies only. :) What's your fave ep? Who? Me? Yeah. I haven't re-seen them all yet ... but "Naka Jima Kill" is still a sentimental favourite The Late Sarah White, which you don't have. How come, Leanne? Why, MW? I'll let Volterra answer first. because I kept the teaser for it all these years on audio .... So did I. Bizarre, eh? innit? :) You two do frighten me a bit at times. :) we do? Us? You're so alike it's scary. I bet we could type the trailer, line by line, alternating lines, if you want, Trish. :) hmm, maybe we're twins :) *** Billprest (Billpresto@169-151-38.ipt.aol.com) has joined #totgm Got married the same year, too. Finally! It's about time, Bill! :) *** GMonkey sets mode: +o Billprest *** BabyRain sets mode: +o GMonkey Hello, you Sky Dogs of Boragora! Bill! Happy New Year! Hiya Kids! How've ya been? Am I fashionably late? Fine, thanks. The top of the town. Not fashionable, just late. :) What time did you all start? I opened it at 6:20 pm AST Officially 6 ET (An hour and 15 minutes ago), but BR and I had a pre-game chat. I thought things started at 3:00 EST. Only on Sundays. That's Sunday. jinx I'm too mature for jinxes. :) Since when? Oh well. What are we talking about, y'all? Since now. Bill: fave eps Glad you're here, though. How's Denver? And what's your least favourite episode? My least favorite? Probably "Distant Shout of Thunder." Denver is fine; big cold spell coming, however. Why DSoT? Too grim. Scares my daughter. It *is* grim. That's why I like it. :) Did anyone notice the similarities between Sarah's drugged out state & Indiana Jone's trance thingie in "Temple of Doom?" Yes, but of course, ToD came out over a year after that episode. Never saw it. Never saw "Temple of Doom"?! Very true. They ripped TOTGM off. Nope. Sorry. Temple of Doom was a bit grim as well. Well, it was quite obvious that Raiders was a Gold Monkey rip-off. :) * Volterra saw Temple of Doom ... it was a little gross. Temple of Doom is fun to watch in a theater full of screaming people. Lotsa gross. Otherwise, it's not much fun. * Volterra thinks there may be take-out tonight after all. The chicken is refusing to defrost brb email coming in Hey Leanne, how are things in San Diego? Seasonably warm? I GOT EMAIL FROM LES JANKEY!!!!!!! BRB!!!!! Awesome! actually it's cooled down quite a bit ... there's snow in the mountains and we have a wind chill factor happening cool :) BTW, Bill, what happened to the Broncos? * GMonkey is sick of hearing about the Patriots here in SE Mass. The Broncos are a bunch of head cases. You sound a wee bit bitter. You'd think, being favored to win the Super Bowl, and with the best record in the NFL, they could pull it together for one game. So who wants to see a Carolina-Jacksonville Super Bowl? :) Don't mistake me for one of their fans. But my co-workers are ultra bummed. Are we discussing football? The Denver Broncos lost this weekend. Let's discuss the recent Les Jankey email! * BabyRain prefers figure-skating. I think that would be excellently cool, even though I hate football let's discuss teh email! Email!!! Did you invite him to join us? Leanne, I've been reading some stuff about Australia. Interesting place. Basically, he says he should be as good as new in about 5 weeks and that the support from the TOTGM community did him a world of good. Aw, how sweet. He seems like a decent sort. Br: that's good to hear. Bill: why've you been doing that? Yeah. I was kind of worried about him. Will you excuse me a moment? I have to place a paper order, which requires getting offline to use the fax. A thousand pardons. Will you come back? *** Billprest has quit IRC (Leaving) Typical male! :) Another mystery. :) well, he said a moment :) How long *is* a moment, *really*? Hmmm...maybe he's just trying to let us down gently. :) Maybe. Unlike some men who never write you back. :) Well, he did write you back eventually, sorta. :) Oh, I wasn't thinking of anybody in particular. Oh, no. I didn't think so. Oh. Okay. :) * Volterra has gone to put a jumper on A wha...? Sweater, right? Chilly in Southern California? Tie me kangaroo down, sport. Tie me kangaroo down ... yup. sweater. * Volterra gets out her wobble-board to accompany BR * BabyRain puts a mark for herself on the scoreboard in the air BR, I thought you said you weren't going to sing tonight. Wobble-board? Do you have one of those other things? didgeridoo? No, but my Mum does I wasn't singing. I was reciting. Can't you tell the difference? :) Yeah. That's it! Sorry. Your voice is so melodious that I couldn't tell the difference. :) I want to buy the Goose. But you can't fly. I wanna fly in it I want Jake to fly me around in it. He could be my chauffeur (sp?). I want to win the lottery, buy the Goose, and we'll all go flying in it. But first we'll repaint it red. Painting it blue was just plain evil. wasn't it just? and we could rescue the gold monkey from DB Bad seaplane people. Bad, bad seaplane people. *** BabyRain changes topic to "Save the Monkey!!" Oh, don't get BR started on that coat hanger business. Grrrrr. * Volterra thinks it's absolute sacrilege too ... Now, see what you've done. If DB *is* using it as a coathanger, hat rack, whatever, I think he is a King Weenie. Maybe it was an emergency. Doubt it. * Volterra doubly doubts it. I want the monkey. MW, use your Hollywood clout to get the monkey. :) Isn't trying to get the networks to air more quality programs enough for you people. Now I've got to rescue props too. :) *** Billprest (Billpresto@169-154-116.ipt.aol.com) has joined #totgm Yippee! He's back. Forgive me for that. Please? My birthday is coming up, you know. If you could just get me a letter from the rescued monkey, I could go on living my life. Forgive you for coming back? For being gone. *** GMonkey sets mode: +o Billprest Oh. Okay. :) Where's Lesley? The Gold Monkey can write, BR? Flooded out, I'm afraid. Yikes! Well, the college anyway. The Gold Monkey can do anything. Even leave black streaks like ordinary brass. :) Sewer system got knocked out. Last I talked to her she had a lake in her backyard, but the house was dry. Not good! She's fine at home, but the college is closed for a week. Hey, has anyone noticed that the people who write into Patricia's Web site are either in their twenties or their forties? Why is that? Guess the show didn't appeal to thirtysomethings. :) hmm, what were the twentysomethings watching in the early 80s? The 30 somethings (during the initial run) would be 50 somethings now, would they not. Depends on how old they were to begin with. My dad, Erik, didn't like the show. Weenie. :) But, perhaps the show wasn't big on college campuses back in the early 80s. Is he daft? My mom loved it. Maybe a little, but we're still waiting for the official report. ;) She used to think that our dogs talked to her, so I guess she could relate. :) My mom hated it, too. One of the guys here at the shop got in trouble for trying to make his dog one-eyed like Jack. In order to watch it, I had to do dishes every single night. Small price to pay. You're kidding, Bill. Please tell me you're kidding. I'm not kidding. He didn't get too far, luckily. I think me and my brother were the only ones who liked it in my family. Hey, what were some of everyone else's least favorite episodes? I missed it. Let's see if you remember "The Sultan of Swat", Bill. *** Billprest (Billpresto@169-154-116.ipt.aol.com) has left #totgm what happened to Bill? Oh sure! Ask him a question and he runs! *** Billprest (Billpresto@169-154-116.ipt.aol.com) has joined #totgm oops Are you trying to avoid us, Bill? No, no. You're all very pleasant people. Then why do you keep leaving? :) I shudder to think of the difficulty of picking the pleasantest of you. I pinged you, Patricia, and got disconnected. Well, stop pinging around. :) Good advice. Bill, do you remember "The Sultan of Swat"? Yeah Well, that was my least favorite episode, but nobody else remembers it. Is that one of the bad ones? Just as well, I guess. When Jake was holding the Babe Ruth guy up in the air, to keep from hanging, I couldn't believe how many times he got punched in the kidneys. Yeah, they really had to pad that episode with all sorts of fight scenes. Shame. That episode was a little grim as well. A young girl got murdered, Jake's fastball got murdered. The original script got murdered! Now that you mention it, that wasn't one of the gems. I didn't read the original script. Was it good? It's online if you want to take a look. And yes, it made a lot more sense. Jeff had an interesting comment about scripts. He said something to the effect that "The closer it got to deadline, the dumber Corky's character was." Guess it's faster to write dumb. Louis L'Amour spoke of his early pulp-writing days. They told him, "We don't want it good. We want it Wednesday." *** BabyRain sets mode: +o Billprest Hey, where are BR and Volterra? I'm here I dunno. It's been you & me for awhile. Are you gals getting tired? * Volterra has been listening with interest I'm here, too. Not tired. Doug gave me his coleslaw. :) Ah, a woman with priorities. :) Hey, I think they could have worked more Australians into the show, since they roam the Pacific at random. Dowser was the only one I remember offhand. Well, they had Dowser. And of course Matilda. Matilda? The mule. Dowser's line about (and I don't quote exactly) "You don't need me. You just want the bon-bons" was one of the funniest. oh, it could have at least been a kangaroo ... Hey Karen, you said Boragora was 3,271 miles from Manila. Have you placed that on a map? Have you ever tried to mine for platinum with a kangaroo? :) I said that? you could put it in its pouch Did I say Karen? I meant Patricia. I said it was 3,251 miles to Manila. And no, I never tried to place it. I can't find a decent map of the Pacific. No atlases pay it much attention. Too much water. There's an island called BoraBora that's more or less in the right place. Neat Tahiti, in French Polynesia I've often wondered, what island chain they patterned the Marivellas after. Solomons, Marianas, Gilberts? Probably a bit of each So... I think if I were a nun, I'd leave the order for Jake and his FC. Maybe it's time to wrap things up. There was a neat international flavor about TOTGM. Throw in a few more Aussies, and perhaps a Canadian or two, and voila. But Jake never offered himself or his FC to the nun. Can I be the Canadian? :) not the FC! * Volterra will be the Aussie. Aren't you afraid of being typecast? :) I had you in mind. Jake shoulda. And besides, do you really think I'd wait for an offer? :) WHAT'S AN FC? Leanne would make a good Aussie. I don't think you want to know, Bill. :) Um, it stands for furry chest, Bill. (sheepish grin) A fair dinkum Aussie, I should think. Bill: that's because I am one, mate. Furry chest. I mighta known. Sorry. :) I'm really trying to be a good girl. You know you're not really all that sorry, BR. :) mate incidentally is Aussie for "friend/buddy" Well, maybe just a little. :) But the sight of that FC is making Babyrain very naughty. :) Hey, is Jeff going to guest star on JAG? Lesley said he was. I hope so. I get JAG. (not to change the subject from Jake's furry chest or nothing. That's okay, Bill. We understand. :) Babyrain gets JAG, but doesn't get 7th Heaven. We saw JAG the other night. The Colorado girl has been replaced. But they don't show the FC on 7th Heaven anyway. :) I should hope not. Hey, does the JAG guy have a FC? pity. I mean, if they can have him on the roof singing ... We're probably making Bill uncomfortable. Bill, are you uncomfortable? There's a Corky-character on JAG. Lt. Roberts. Acts just like Corky, only he's a genius. More time to write scripts, I suppose. No. I'm in the revolving padded chair. Corky was a genius in his own way. The Corky character was brilliant. Are you sure you don't meab "room", Bill? :) Okay, then does anybody know if the JAG guy has a FC or not? ;) No he doesn't Are you talking about that Sabato guy? If so, bald as a billiard ball. Oh, then I don't need to watch it, huh? :) Uh, Bill? If you tune in for furry chests, expect disappointment. Yes Karen... Bill? yes.. Are you an expert on FCs? :) How is one determined to be an expert? * BabyRain is expecting the large trout slap any second now... I'm just kidding. :) * GMonkey slaps BabyRain around a bit with a large trout I didn't want to disappoint you. :) Not from you! :) (Bill does what's right, slaps Karen with a large thawed elk steak.) OW! Besides, I don't think Bill knows about the slap function. :) *** Billprest has quit IRC (Leaving) Was it something I said? Oh dear! I wonder if that was another oops? I didn't even ask him if he had an FC. I think he was trying to find the slap function. I didn't explain the intracacies of mIRC. Has anyone ever noticed all I talk about is sex and food? Ithink I'm stuck in one of my developmental phases ... * BabyRain hopes Bill comes back. All we ever talk about is sex and food. *** Billprest (Billpresto@169-154-116.ipt.aol.com) has joined #totgm * BabyRain wants to point out that it has nothing to do with what she just said. sheesh! Well, maybe a bit about Gold Monkey. Hi, Bill! Hello again. which developmental phase is that? What were you trying to do, Bill? No wonder people are afraid to join us. Anyway, on JAG the other night, the guy had his shirt off and he was not an FC, if you must know. *** BabyRain sets mode: +o Billprest Well, actually I *must* know. It is vital to my viewing pleasure. :) Okay. We won't watch him, then. :) Thanks, Bill. FCs are not politically correct. Why? But they're soooooooooo sexy! ;) I dunno. I don't make the rules. * BabyRain doesn't like bald chests. I seem to get that impression from you all. Bill, are we making you uncomfortable? You are somewhat in a minority here. Well, Jake set the standard by which we judge all men. As long as he was wearing the hat. (Bill keeps his mouth shut) He had to hide that receding hairline. :) * BabyRain hands Bill some pretzels and offers words of solace Him and Clark Kent, anyway Clark Kent wears a hat? Thanks for the pretzels. Now if only I had a frosty Schweppes to go with them. * BabyRain hands Bill *two* frosty Schweppeses. Are we saying that SC had a receding hairline? No. Jake did. :) Yes, we are and yes, he did and does. Frosty Schwabs? Thank you! I liked that hat. I think he's had a hair weave or something, because his hair in 1996 was pretty thick. * BabyRain likes her men tall, *dark* and hamdsome. And yes, that was a cool hat. We know, BR. I promised you I'd buy you a hat. Only $89.00. * BabyRain falls on the floor picturing SC in dreds no, but a combination of Jake and BR is what I look for in a man. :) WHAT?! BR? * Volterra was gazing at Anthony and apologises for the lag. Please get up, BR. I don't want you falling down and hurting yourself. oops. not BR, CK. Come again? CK? * BabyRain slaps Volterra around a bit with a large trout that was serious keyboard oopsie Chuck Knorris? * Volterra deserved that. Clark Kent * BabyRain is laughing so hard that she can't breathe * BabyRain has a dog trying to rescue her breathe, BR, breathe! * GMonkey gets a picture of Jake the Hermaphrodite. It ain't pretty. (sends a CPR unit to New Brunswick, email) yucky Hermaphrodite? Are we drifting here? Gm: particularly with the FC? Hey, BR, if you need mouth-to-mouth, maybe I should call Randolph Mantooth. :) Okay ... How did Jake get his *dry* hat back after wrestling with Monocle in the water in the pilot? Props dept, I reckon. I thought it was wet. The same props dept that handed DB my monkey Not soaking, but wet enough. How did Monocle keep his monocle intact in the throes of death? Krazy glue And I've asked before, how does Jake spend 2 minutes underwater, then kiss Sarah for 45 seconds without catching his breath? What a man, what a man, what a man .... Oh it wasn't that long. * Volterra chuckles It must be the FC. :) Wow! If Jake had that much stamina, just imagine...;) * BabyRain is laughing again * GMonkey stops when she realizes there are gentlemen present It seemed that long. (squirms uncomfortably) * BabyRain hands Bill ore pretzels Ore pretzels. Bad for the teeth. more pretzels Well, we did say that Jake was the standard by which we judge men by. If I were a man, I'd be squirming too, Bill. :) Evidently you've had my cooking before. :) Poor Bill. Poor, poor Bill. Bill, did you like Sarah? Here have some more pretzels. Did I like Sarah? How so? Alright already with the pretzels. Like we like Jake. :) I believe the word is LUST. :) No, not in the same fashion that you *like* Jake. I didn't lust. I wanted to have a meaningful relationship with him. :) Her character was a good one, and Caitlin did a great job. Uh huh. Did the Goose have autopilot? No autopilot. I don't think they had autopilot back in 1938. Hubby Dan is home. brb I thought Caitlin's performance in the pilot was fantastic. Apparently they add a few hundred pounds to a plane. But, then again, they didn't have Flying Tigers either. Caitlin in the pilot was good. Really? Why so much? I dunno. I just report the news. BR: I agree about Caitlin in pilot Technically, they wouldn't have even had Gooses in 1938. If Seattle Seaplanes knew what they were doing, they'd repaint it theway it was in the series. Gooses? Geese? Grumman Geese Trivia question - why are the called Canada Geese? "they" According to the specs that came with the Harvey papers, Grumman introduced the Goose in 1937. ? Uh-oh. Trivia war. True. But they take awhile to get onto the market, and the odds of one ending up in the Pacific, and written off as a wreck, would be slim indeed. * Volterra should go now that Hubby Dan is home and attempt to do something with the frozenish chicken Stir fry it, Leanne. Irradiate it. ? Irrigate it. later all! *** Volterra has quit IRC (Yes, we're together now!) Bye! I'm always too slow. Maybe it's time to call it a night, eh? Some lady on the phone is trying to sell me the Rocky Mountain News. What do you think, Bill? About the Rocky Mt. News? Better than the Post. Tell her you'll buy it only if she steals the Monkey from DB. (calls the lady back. "Hey lady, if you steal Don Bellisario's monkey for some girl in Canada, I'll take your paper." * BabyRain grins and is happy to be called a girl again Anything for a commission. :) I thought "girl" was the accepted term here in the TOTGM world. Anyway, I think somebody motioned to adjourn. Oh, don't leave me. (sniff) It's getting to be that time again. I suppose. I'd better go, too. Gotta go home, eat dinner, and fool around with the TOTGM playset in the basement. Oh, and I won't be able to chat with you tomorrow morning, BR. I've got a training class. Hey! I want a picture of that, Bill. Maybe so, Sabu. Oh, Patricia. What'll I do? Seriously. It sounds cool. Play with your monkey. I like playing with my monkey. Okay. I tried taking pictures, but I couldn't get the angles right, so I'll try again. Oh and by the way, would you girls knock it off? Thanks, Bill. It sounds really cool. What? Knock what off? * BabyRain should take a picture of the monkey Patricia sent her for Christmas. The monkey thing. I'm thinking there's some hidden meaning. That would go great with the WAV file. I could upload the picture and link it to the Monkey Call. No. It's just a stuffed monkey that makes a monkey noise. Didn't you read about it on the bulletin board? Bill!!!! I'm shocked!!! Oh, the Christmas monkey! What were you thinking, Bill? Ahem... we should probably call it a night. I guess so. (heavy sigh) Okay. Same time next week? Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite. Sounds good to me. Can you come, Bill? Warum nicht? Good. Okay, see ya next Tuesday. Later! Bye! I'll try to be there. Tell me again what time it starts, Mountain Standard Time. 5? 4 pm 4 Oh, 4:00! Got it! 6 Eastern, 5 Central, 4 Mountain, 3 Pacific 7 Atlantic and 7 Atlantic :) JINX! Au revoir to the province of New Brunswick, and Boston, the cradle of democracy. I'm much too mature for jinxes Fine, be that way, baby! :0 A bientot, mon ami! Good night! Session Close: Wed Jan 08 01:36:19 1997
